Boozily

Last night we had a do,
From half-past-ten till two,
We invited all the judies on the block.
We had some cast-iron pudden,
The bread it tasted wooden
And the smell of the gravy stopped the clock.

When Jack's wife passed away
He remarried the next day,
His mates clubbed up to buy a big iced cake.
The bride was looking swell
And the corpse wore white as well
And we combined the wedding with the wake.
(Repeat first verse)

Spoken

Thrift, thrift, Horatio! the funeral baked meats
Did coldly furnish forth the marriage tables.
