National Service Conscript, British Army 1948-1950: Sgt Instructor, Radar (REME).

IBM UK & US subsidiaries:
various systems programming roles, 1955-70.

Manager University Systems, 1970-73.

Freelance programmer, consultant & writer: 1974- :
diverse books; articles and columns in Computer Language, AI/Expert, UNIX Review, Computer Weekly, Software Development, UNIX Developer, Manifold, American Mathematical Monthly, London Times, Lotus Magazine, Mondo 2000. Keynote speaker at UNIOPS, IBM CUA, BCS (British Computer Society), AMUS (AlphaMicro Users' Society), SD (Software Development) and ESP (Embedded Systems Programming) Conferences.

Parallel Showbiz/Folksong career: over 200 Radio & TV shows. Founder/Member, St Lawrence Folk Song Society (Cambridge University , 1950);

L. Lloyd.

Soccer: semi-official bard for Liverpool FC; traveled with the team in the 1970s, home, away, and Europe preparing the O Liverpool We Love You LP.
Manager to Kevin Keegan, Tommy Smith, and Larry Hughes for two seasons.
