The A-Z of Website Design, Page 2...
N
Networking. A Website will not generate instant cash, but it will allow you to network "virtually", and, in time, generate business and contacts.
O
Objectives are a subset of Aims and demand equal clarity.
P
Promotion. The world will not beat a path to your site simply because it looks great. Talk to PROMOPHOBIA.
Q
Question yourself constantly about the message you are delivering, both overtly and covertly.
R
Registration. You need to register your site with as many directories as possible as often as possible. Registration equals exposure.
S
Spelling. Double check your spelling before announcing your site - and then get someone else to check it. A spell-checker is NOT good enough. A mis-spelled word on the screen looks ten times worse than one in print.
T
Test your site before opening it. If you can, check it out with a variety of browsers - a page that looks fine with Netscape may well look abysmal with the AOL browser.
U
Utility. Think why your Website would be beneficial to your audience.
V
Value. How will your page enhance the value of your product or service?
W
World Wide Web. Remember the Web is accessible globally. Keep it simple.
X
Xenophobia. Question your cultural assumptions. Never forget that your message goes out to a worldwide audience.
Y
Yang is only half the story. Don't forget the Yin.
Z
Zany. You don't have to be serious all the time. Add some humor. People like to laugh!
